Thur Jan 3 at 1:45pm my cell phone rang with a 402 area code. Don't know anyone with that area code. So I was going to let it go to voice mail. They didn't go to vmail, but called right back, so I answered. A lady representing the ESPN Daytona 500 High Octane Sweepstakes introduced herself. She asked if I remembered entering the contest, and I slowly and suspiciously said "yes". I remembered entering a Daytona 500 contest just didn't recall it being sponsored by ESPN. She said I was one of the finalist for the grand prize. Then she proceeded to go through all of the grand prize winnings. They wanted to Fed-Ex me all the documents that I would need in order to sign my life away. I said ok. She gave me her name and number. Right before we hung I said ok when will I know if I won. She said if all the background info, driving record , etc looks good then I am one of the two winners in this nation wide contest.
After we hung up I immediately got on the net searching for this contest. Sure enough the grand prizes matched what the lady said. And there are only 2 grand prize winners! I wanted to tell someone so bad, but also wanted to see IF I really am going to get the paperwork, and will it look legit. I looked up this company representing ESPN as well. There were on the net.
