Save the Ta Tas!

Most of us know October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month http://nbcam.org/. I just wanted to send a friendly reminder before then. I have heard the mammogram offices are quite busy the month of October, and then after October the holiday season kicks in, and we sometimes forget to go.

This has been on my mind to blog as there have been some occurrences of breast cancer in my family. Then I very recently read where actress. Christina Applegate, was diagnosed early with breast cancer, age 36. (update 8/27/08 she had a double mastectomy).

So either way talk to your health care provider about scheduling your mammogram, you'll be glad you did. And if you're over 40 and have never had one, it's not too late. You need at least one to have as a baseline.

ALSO THIS IS IMPORTANT, inflammatory breast cancer is less common/publicized, but worse than regular cancer and it has signs: http://komonews.s3.amazonaws.com/ibc/komo_ibc.wmv
