Krispy Kreme

Just another confirmation that I don't care for Krispy Kreme. The first time I went to one of their stand-alone places was to their drive-through with my niece. She wanted a maple log. "Uh, we don't have those." Then I asked for a cinnamon roll. "Uh, we don't have those." Finally the nice guy said, "You know there's a donut shop across the street." Hell, that's the one I usually go to any way so that's where we went and enjoyed our donuts, thank you very much.

Ok, so yesterday I had a weak moment and went to the Krispy Kreme drive-thru for some donut holes. "Uh we don't' have those." Wow, they used to. I said, "do you have any donuts?", laughed, didn't wait for an answer, rolled my window up and went home empty-handed.

When they first came to Texas everyone oohh'd and aaww'd about them, but there were those of us that didn't care for them. They lack lightness in my opinion (IMO). They are all dipped in a glaze, a lot of glaze. I mean I would eat them if I wanted a donut and no other was around, but I grew up on Shipley's http://www.shipleydonuts.ws/ and Southern Maid http://www.southernmaiddonuts.com/history.html , and later Dunkin Donuts https://www.dunkindonuts.com/.

See ya, Krispy Kreme...oh, but I am entering their contest daily to win a Mini-Coop, go figure: http://www.krispykrememinissweepstakes.com/
