Hey did you know there is such a thing as a fancy Walmart? No, seriously. A couple a years ago a co-worker read in the paper about this one in Plano. Friday I was on the way to a RoughRiders baseball game in Frisco. Going north on the tollway I remembered there was a "fancy" Walmart on Park Blvd from the Dallas Tollway. This is the quintessential definition of oxymoron if I ever heard it, but I had to check it our for myself. Anyway, I veered my car for the exit as the Wm is literally right there.
The first thing I noticed walking in, the big book section, and the drool down my chin started. Why can't the new apparently-gonna-be-ghettoish Wm nearest me have a great book section like this? The Wm by Mom has a nice book section, too, but not as nice as this one in Plano. In in are two big comfy chairs with floorlamps for your reading pleasure. Aw, the nice music piped in, lovely. Some of the flooring was wood laminate. I didn't have time to cruise the whole store, but I can tell you this. There was not one screaming and/or crying kid at all, I mean at all. Maybe fancy Wm has rules and such? Or the piped in music subliminally quiets them.
From one of the bookmarks in a book I bought. This Wm is one of several in the DFW area to have a computer diagnostic center that sounds like a less expensive Geek Squad, thank goodness.
So if you're out that way, stop in and check this Wm out. Hopefully next time I go I'll have more time to peruse the entire store.
