In the late 1990s there used to be a little two story retail/office strip near where I lived. Downstairs had a liquor store. And someone told me there was an AA meeting place upstairs. Who the hell picked that location for an AA office space or maybe the AA group meeting place was there first and the liquor store came along later? Talk about temptation...
Nonetheless, David was a guy in our church book group during that time. He was looking to move his office space and seriously considered moving to that little strip. Why, you ask? Guess he figured if the alcoholics upstairs fell off the wagon by visiting the liquor store downstairs there would be a lawyer's office in the same shopping strip!
Not sure why, but he didn't move his office there.
