Whew I made it through my first year volunteering to pour beer at the North Texas Irish Festival! I had enough of a good time that I would do it again, but I don't know about 2 shifts in the same day. We were so busy that time just flew.
Let's see I tried the Crispin Hard Cider - Classic Blue. Really liked that! http://www.crispincider.com/cider/
Tried the US premiere of Kilkenny. Not so much, tasted like coffee-flavored beer. Smithwick's (the w is silent) was ok for beer. We ran out of Mead or I would have tried that.
The Official hotel was very near my home so I took the shuttle from there. I arrived at the festival at Fair Park at noon while my first shift wasn't until 1:30pm. So sat and listened to some music. Saw my extended family members, Jan and husband, Richard there. Later I saw an ex-coworker, David, and his wife, Anna, who I told I would be there. I think the usually go. Then I saw a current co-worker and her husband. Pleasant surprise didn't know they went to this. There were lots of dogs there, too. As always, some good people and dog watchin!
Saw quite a few guys wearing kilts with tshirts. On the back of several tees was something like this: This is a KILT. If you wear underwear then it's a skirt.
Ok when I get my pedicure one lady likes to leave my tiny toenails a little bit longer so that the dark blue polish looks better on them. I agree with that Except I have to go more often because it doesn't take much for my toenails to get too long in my shoes. Well that's what happened yesterday, my toenails were too long for my tennis shoes, and my toenails hurt!

Southwest Celtic Music Association which puts on the North Texas Irish Festival will also produce the first annual Cowtown Celtic Festival in Fort Worth early October this year. I just may volunteer there as well. http://www.cowtownceltic.org/
Oh in NASCAR representation, I saw a guy wearing an 88 cap and another wearing a 24 ballcap. Me, I was wearing my green Carl Edwards' tshirt.
