Lucky Tuesday

from my good friend, Patti:

"Well, Steve and I both won something yesterday! First off, I won First Place in Layered Cakes and Best of Fair, Baked Goods Division (Van Zandt County Fair)! I was shocked. I had to move the big blue ribbon to be sure that was really my cake under there! (There was just a tiny bit left -- I took in 1/4 of it for judging and there was a little slice left! Just as well, it won't age well. LOL It's too bad the pictures for the winners will be taken Saturday afternoon. But I'll get a mention in the local paper anyway.

Also, Steve had entered a contest on the rock station out here, and got picked as the winner of a meet and greet with Veer Union at the studio this Friday afternoon in Tyler. They will do a brief acoustic set, meet with us, and they are catering with hot dogs, snacks and drinks! He's bringing 3-5 friends -- for sure me, the third hellion, and Josh, one of the ws from up here and possibly his wife and possibly our nephew who is a budding musician himself. Veer Union is along the lines of Matchbox 20, just a little more rockin'. The lead singer is a black guy with a mohawk, I cannot wait to meet him!"

The reason Patti won't be there to get her winner picture taken, she also won 4 tickets to the NASCAR Nationwide race at Texas Motor Speedway(TMS) for this Saturday (rain, rain, go away). This was via our KSCS Fantasy Racing group, and she was THE Local Winner in DFW for the Martinsville race. I'm going with her and Steve to the race.
