These are some signs of aging I have noticed within myself in the last few years:
If I'm out and about and I'm driving, I want to be home before dark. Doesn't mean I will be though.
I don't want to have to get out and drive in the rain, but once again I will if I have to.
Used to be I could study/read with the tv/radio on. Now I mute the tv/radio so I can concentrate on what I'm reading/typing.
I would rather sleep in my own bed at home if I could. But I have gotten better about taking my pillow with me so at least I have that when traveling by car.
If the event is going to be crowded or a lot of traffic I just as soon stay home.
I like that fluffy green jello with Cool-Whip dish that you find alot at family or Southern pot lucks.
How does this happen? Let me tell you these all snuck up on me, too. It wasn't like I woke up one day and decided to do the above.
My dad and I say if you drink coffee WITH your dinner you might be getting on up there. One day a couple of years ago he called me and told me he had coffee with his dinner. I said "say it ain't so, Dad!" We both got a good laugh out of that.
You heard of that saying "someone's long in the tooth"? That comes from when we age our gums recede and more tooth is exposed hence the teeth look longer hence you must be getting on up in the years.
One of the plusses that comes to mind regarding maturation, you care less and less about what others think...How freeing is that??
One of my favorite quotations, but I don't know who it's attributed to:
"It ain't the age, it's the attitude." I will leave you with that thought!
