Random Acts of Kindness - Meetup.com group

I heard about this meetup.com group, Random Acts of Kindness (RAK), from a lady at a singles group about a year or more ago. At that time they had only 2 regular events which didn't interest me too much. I finally made it to an event Sunday at the Salvation Army in Dallas. We set tables, served lunch, and cleaned up afterwards for the women's and men's eating area.
This volunteer group does a lunch serving once a month and a dinner serving once a month at the Salvation Army. Nice group of people. Lance Price organizes a lot of the events. He's the owner of CD Source http://www.myspace.com/cdsource. Let me tell you the volunteer spots fill up fast. We even had two teenage boys from St Mark's High School (steve miller, boz scaggs, and the borothers wilson, luke and owen, have attended St Mark's) . Their school requires community service of all students- awesome. I like the lunch serving better as we have to be there at 11am vs 4:30pm for the dinner serving.

Pictures taken at today's event may end up part of a tv commerical meetup.com is doing in response to President-elect Obama's call for Americans to become active within their communities. They got some of me in my apron, gloves, and hairnet cleaning tables and chairs.

By the way, Motor St off 35E has apparently been renamed Medical District Dr.
