Well we had another great Austin visit. Since Rory's birth I've been going about every 3 months which is about how often I tried to see Sophia in Florida before I moved there myself. Sophia and I cruised to the Hill Country on Sunday and returned Monday for our quick trip. I would stay longer on my trips, but with the baby and guest room one in the same I don't want to intrude. Now, once they either remodel their house or move to a bigger one, I will be staying longer in the Aunt Tammy room! So note to Tara.
Rory is walking now and has been since just right after his DFW trip in June. I captured it on video Sunday, hope you can see it on Picasaweb. Plus many still pictures which I got developed today. I thought I left my camera at home because I thought I put it in a bag with some magazines I was giving Jason and Tara. So we swung by CVS and I bought a disposable. I found my camera, I put it in my overnight bag! Geeeez
We went to Hula Hut again for dinner at my request. Hula Hut is owned by the same people that own Chuy's. We have a Chuy's in Dallas at McKinney/Knox which I am not so crazy about the food, but the margaritas were/are killer!!
While in Austin we went to a cool local toy store, Toy Joy, Monday, and I bought a 6 inch green fifties style metal robot for Rory. It says on the box "Not for Children. for Collectors only." Tara wants to use it for decoration. Tara and Jason are trying out pretty much just letting him play with things that don't require batteries so he can develop and use his imagination more. Sophia bought herself this toy hamster that rolls around in a ball. I think she bought one for her guinea pigs long time ago, but they won't have anything to do with it. Talana had given us a natural wooden shape sorter which we gave Rory, it was cool.
His first birthday is coming up Sept 17. The theme is robots/astronauts/space. So now I need to get something for him to either wear or play with.
