Patti recently taught me this tidbit. When you call to cancel a magazine subscription (I forgot you could even do that) you should get a pro-rated refund as long as you're not canceling at the last issue. If they refuse to refund you the amount, tell them you will call Attorney General (insert name) for the US state where the company is located.
So last week I canceled two magazine subscriptions - NASCAR Scene and More. Neither gave me a problem and said they would refund me the amount left. In fact got my $6 check from More today.
