Carolyn, from A Thousand Pictures blog, tagged me to list 10 things people don't know about me. Her blog is listed on the left hand side under "Blogs I Follow".
1. I could always braid hair, never had to be shown.
2. I don't like to dance freestyle. Would love to do that ballroom type dancing though.
3. When I got my laser surgery for my eyes in August 1998 they said I was legally blind. I had never been told that in all the years I wore contact lenses.
4. My mom pierced my ears. I was suppose to wait until age 16, but by 9 I had wore her down. She used ice cubes to numb it and a needle to make the hole. Later I got another set (in junior high) of holes right above the first set. I leave that top right one alone. It starts getting tender when I wear an earring in it even after all these years.
5. First time I drove a standard car my mom, aunt and cousin (who's 3 months younger than me) were with me. We drove on some dirt road as I didn't have a license just yet. It was like I had driven one before, which I had not. It was easy. Mom thought I had already been driving, but nope. It was summertime and all the windows were down on the car. I was concentrating on what to do when I hit a mud puddle and some splashed through the window onto my cousin in the backseat.
Of course, now I am very very rusty on driving standard, would probably chug chug down the road, but I'd make it.
Now what might have helped my on the shifting was my mom had a Toyota Corona, that's right I said Corona, back in the early 1970s. Sometimes she let me do the shifting while she drove.
6. I went to 10 schools in 12 years from first to twelfth grade.
7. I have a strawberry looking birthmark on my right leg under my butt cheek. I forget I have it. Heard a rumor birthmarks are where you got hurt in another lifetime.
8. When I was a kid we had mini-bikes and dirt bikes. We had a Honda Q50 mini-bike and my mom had a Honda SL-70. When I got a little bit taller I could drive the SL-70.
9. My first airplane flight was when I was 7 years old going from Dallas to Denver. My mom worked as a bookkeeper for the now defunct Braniff airlines. We went to visit her uncle in Denver.
10. My first trip overseas was to Greece and Turkey in 1997. It also included my one and only cruise so far. We cruised around some Greek islands and we also docked in Ephesus Turkey. Those American Express commercials that show the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, I been inside it.
