I bet you're like me and didn't know that the Texas Civil War Museum in west Fort Worth TX is the largest Civil War Museum west of the Mississippi. How did I find out about this you ask? Well I was at Academy Sporting Goods store in Dallas. They have a rack of travel brochures by the door. I just happened to have stopped, browsed, and I came across the brochure for this place.

So Saturday my pops and I went to check it out. The building seems new. We were there almost 2 hours. They have a video to watch which I guess is about 20 minutes in length. Seems like most every item in this museum was noted to whom it originally belonged. They have clothing, musical instruments, weapons, flags, etc. They even have a section on Victorian dress of that time period.
If you get out Fort Worth way I recommend you go visit this musuem.
